The FREND is an automated, compact cartridge analysis instrument. It is based on quantitative immunoassay technology, enables quantitative measurement of single or multiple samples through a laser fluorescence cartridge. FREND cartridges utilize microfluidic techniques which controls the fluidity of the sample in the cartridge.
In short, the concentration of the unknown sample is determined according to the ratio of the fluorescence intensity of the test and standard regions.
